In the last Olympics, the situation regarding Russia's medal count is a bit complicated due to various factors including doping - related issues and the use of different names.
Let's first talk about the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (which were held in 2021 due to the COVID - 19 pandemic). Russian athletes participated under the name of the "Russian Olympic Committee" (ROC). The ROC team had a pretty solid performance. They ended up winning a total of 71 medals, which included 20 gold, 28 silver, and 23 bronze medals.
This achievement was quite remarkable considering the circumstances. The ROC team had athletes competing in a wide range of sports, from track and field to gymnastics, and from swimming to wrestling. In gymnastics, the ROC gymnasts showed their amazing skills and won several medals. Their synchronized swimming team was also a force to be reckoned with, taking home multiple golds and silvers.
